The kitchen
- The 2.13 m zone on each side of the net is the non-volley zone. Everyone calls it the kitchen.
- You can't hit the ball out of the air while you're standing in it, or touching its line.
- A dink is a soft shot that lands in the kitchen. Most points between good players are won or lost with dinks.

Warm-up
3:00
Easy jog on the spot, arm circles both ways, then side shuffles. Finish with a few slow swings.
Next: Paddle bumps
Turn your volume up, or pop in earbuds. Warm up properly, hit against walls where it’s allowed, and stop if anything hurts.

Film 10 seconds. Get one fix.
Prop your phone about three metres away, side on, so the paddle, your arm and your feet are in the shot. Film about 10 seconds of your dinks at the wall, then pick the clip here.
We send 4 still frames to our AI coach. Your video stays on your phone, and we don’t keep the frames.
